About the Role:
The Property Portfolio & Contracts Manager will be a key member of the commercial team, driving strategic commercial outcomes within the business unit.
Your primary responsibility will be managing the extensive portfolio of leasehold interests across Australia. This includes overseeing a portfolio of approximately 70 leases, ranging from long-term leases to short-term licenses over various property assets.
Additionally, you will support the commercial and contracts team in various capacities, including:
- Assisting with tenders, contract reviews, and negotiations
- Supporting post-award contract management
- Preparing contract variations and renewals
- Ensuring compliance with lease and contract obligations
- Actively manage leasehold interests to ensure compliance, performance, and timely renewal
- Negotiate lease amendments, variations, and renewals
- Review and negotiate contracts, including NDAs, service agreements, and sale agreements
- Liaise with property agents, insurance brokers, and internal stakeholders
- Support the informal resolution of disputes
- Assist in reviewing credit applications and customer questionnaires related to HSE, compliance, and other customer requirements
- Work closely with the General Manager and Contracts Manager on commercial matters
- Minimum 5 years' experience in leasing or contracts management, preferably in ports, logistics, or commercial property
- Strong knowledge of lease agreements, including terms, notice periods, make-good provisions, and rate reviews
- Experience in contract formation, execution, variations, and renewals
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong document management skills
- Knowledge of insurance requirements and the ability to liaise with insurance brokers
- Understanding of State and Commonwealth legislation commonly referenced in contracts and leases
- Familiarity with the ASDEFCON suite of contracts(desirable)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Salesforce(desirable)
